Carbon Steel Electrodes

A very prominent sector of this product group is the rutile “13” type coated electrodes. The Selectrode Research and Development team has spent many years making test comparisons comparing our 6013 electrode to all of the top rated brands in the market worldwide. This process has yielded a net result of a truly outstanding all around product that excels in all performance categories. Our “13” type flux coating can be bent without cracking and breaking off. This feature allows the operator to access hard to reach areas. The weld transfer is extremely smooth with a bare minimum of spatter loss. The slag removes automatically by itself and weld beads are uniform and smoothly rippled. All position capability is also excellent.  Combine all of these outstanding features with the fact that we manufacture and stock these electrodes in multiple colors provides a total win for companies looking to sell the very best while having easy access to a unique color and distinctive presentation. The final advantage is that this product group is manufactured in diameters ranging from 1/16” (1.6mm) through ¼” (6.4mm).

Complimenting the rutile product group is our cellulosic 6010 Pipe Welding electrode. This electrode has passed worldwide critical testing with intense scrutiny in connection with positional Pipe Welding applications. Our basic coated electrodes are headed up by our famous and unique Double Coated glass slag electrode which performs admirably on alternating current.

Stainless Steel Electrodes

The 312 or 29/9 type electrode is the leader of this group in popularity as well as physical properties. Over the past 40 years we have constantly modified and updated this important product in order to continually offer our clients the very latest technological developments. Selectrodes range features easy arc strike as well as restrike. Arc transfer is silent and smooth even when operating on low open circuit voltage smaller type AC welding machines. The molten slag is non-interfering and when solidified it is self lifting for easy removal. Best of all is the fact that we manufacture this electrode in 8 different colors.  A special modified version on this electrode type is our Stud Pull electrode which is designed with a special flux in order to weld in tight quarters when removing broken studs or bolts.

The intense attention and resources invested in the 312 (29/9) electrode carried over to our full range of stainless steel electrodes. They are all designed with the same coating features and match the specific stainless base metals that they are designed to join or repair. A very unique line of Flux Coated Tig wires compliments the arc welding electrodes in our range. These facilitate the welding of stainless pipes without the use of costly inert gas interior purging.

In addition to the standard products, we also offer unique and special products, including:
