Pyro Fuse Hot Spray Powder Torch
This oxy-acetylene, simultaneous spray and fuse torch is a precision applicator of nickel based alloys ranging in hardness from Rockwell B 88 through and including tungsten carbide bearing deposits up to Rockwell A 90 hardness. Availability of different size tips allows this torch to make deposits on fine knife edges and also broad high buildups. A special 2 step spray technique deposits hard even overlays as thin as .003”. This heavy duty chrome plated torch can be purchased as a stand alone torch only or in an attractive carrying kit which includes the torch and 2 different size tips, a complete instruction manual and 3 each 1 pound bottles of soft, mid-hardness and very hard overlays.
The powders offered for sale with the Pyro Fuse torch system are pure alloy inert gas atomized spherically shaped design. They are all boron containing which makes them self fluxing with a pre-designed amount of molten fluidity. A very soft easily machineable nickel alloy leads the hardness scale all the way up to and though glass hard nickel/chrome alloys and nickel/chrome/tungsten alloys. Custom blends to achieve a specific hardness range are feasible with adequate quantity orders.
Micro Bond Cold Spray Powder Metabolizing Torch
Selectrode designed this simple, easy to use, gravity feed powder spray torch as an alternative to expensive, high maintenance air assisted torches. This well proven torch applicator was designed and developed at Selectrode’s research facility over 30 years ago and is well proven in thousands of metal spray applications world wide. The powder bottles easily thread into the torch adaptor. After minimal preheating a simple on/off switch is activated which will release the flow of powder into the high velocity oxy-acetylene flame. The flame liquefies the fine powder particles and blasts them onto the cylindrical surface to be coated. Substrate temperatures never exceed 600 degrees Fahrenheit thereby totally eliminating heat distortion and warpage.
Cold spray metallizing powders are either 1 step or 2 step design. The 1 step type are inert gas atomized alloys that we selectively screen in order to yield flame transfer characteristics that minimize fumes and also overspray loss. These powders require the use of a first step bond coat that metallurgically fuses onto the cylindrical rotating surface. The final buildup dimension is achieved with the second coat of an alloy chosen for the particular application. Two step powders have the bond coat agglomerated onto the final alloy choice thereby completing the buildup process in one simple step. The Micro Bond torch is available as a torch alone or a complete kit which includes the torch, 8 each ½ pound bottles of assorted powders, 2 each temperature indicating crayons, an aerosol degreasing/cleaning agent and a fully illustrated instruction/maintenance manual, all attractively packaged in a molded plastic heavy duty carrying case.
